Hi, I am a 22 year old wife and mother with hep c. I was diagnosed after trying to donate blood at a health fair at work (I used to be a CNA) I lost my job, I had to quit nursing school of course. I went through the treatment for 6 months and it worked a little bit but I have stage 2 type c hep c. I lost my insurance so I received a letter through the mail from my doctor refusing to keep me as a patient. lol. I hope to meet people who understand and I pray for all of you and your families.

I have been visiting your site for a few years off and on. I have hep c and my 26 yr old daughter died 3 yrs ago from it, and she has a 9 yr old boy who tests positive for it. I have learned a lot from this site and plan to continue to visit it. Thank you for the continued information on this site.

This is my first time visiting your site and found it by accident. I use to get blood transfusions regularly when I was younger than became an alcoholic. I have just began interferon treatment. I am tired most of the time and in pain or sleep the other times. I will continue to look at this site for all that is offered to me. Thank-you!

I was diagnosed with the HCV in 97, and have ignored the virus for the past 8 years. I was told at the time that nothing could be done as interferon was too expensive & the British National Health would not fund the treatment. However a couple of month ago I was told that treatment could now be possible although until visiting your site I was starved of the facts. Thank you for the information.

Wow. thanks so much........... I had a lot of pressing questions about whether or not I was beginning to feel the natural progression of this disease, as I felt various or increased symptoms, I really think the education was VITAL........ Im calling the doctor today. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING SO INFORMATIVE.

Was diagnosed in 1999 when my then 12 year old was being tested for reason for kidney disease, we are both 1A and have bleeding disorder. My child had combo treatment and is permanently mentally ill, and had been denied SSI 4 times. I have also been denied as well. We are now taking herbs and using diet and prayer for healing. Your story is remarkable and an inspiration to all.  I have all normal labs and a very low viral load despite probably having hep C for over 30 years.

Kevin and Patty and all who help with the NHCC work hard to tell the "Rest of the Story" as Paul Harvey says it. Thank you. I have not met anyone I know personally that the conventional treatment worked on. It did not work for me as well. We are all in this disease together. We need to stick together. I was blind about treatment options till NHCC showed me an alternative. God Bless NHCC!

Having just had a liver biopsy yesterday, and hearing from the doctor today about the "preliminary" results, I'm told that I probably have cirrhosis, brought on by hepatitis C, which I've apparently had for many years. I've never abused alcohol, and wasn't an intravenous drug user. My doctor tells me that I will definitely have to have interferon injections, as well as some pills, but, having found this site, I'm hoping that there are effective treatment alternatives that I'll learn about here.

It is sites like this and the dedicated people who started it, and work to maintain it that give hope and inspiration and information to the rest of us who are newly diagnosed and looking for all the information possible. Most of us who are diagnosed, are surprised, scared, unsure. and are looking for support from those who have taken the journey farther against the dragon then we have. We are grateful.

I suppose that I contracted HCV late 60's early 70's during the viet nam war. Was told in 83 that I had non a, non b hep, but never directed to seek help or info. I'm 55 now. Significant inflammation struck last fall. chronic hep c, viral count 4.3 mil. If I go into failure? How do I ask my 18 yr old son to save my life with a Living donor liver transplant? I will keep my faith in god's good graces and try milk thistle as well. Thanks for all your wonderful support and info.

I was diagnosed with HepC late 2001 and was pretty devastated. My previous girlfriend had Hep C, but my long term lifestyle was possibly as much to blame, so how I got Hep is a moot point. Previous to finding this website, interacting with other's was difficult. To the uneducated I may as well have leprocey or the plague. Thank for creating a site where I can interact with people who understand. I wish the best to all my HCV brother's and sisters, and hang in there.

Well, I am still wondering how, what, where, when and why I got Hep C.  I am unusually calm about it, just don't know what to do yet.  Do I do interferon, or Chinese medicine.  Any help or advise is helpful, but I also need a support group in my area to talk about it.  Any suggestions.

Hi! I found out a year ago that I have hepatitis-c. I was so scared at first, but now I have come to terms with this virus. I know that having hepatitis-c is not a death sentence. You can have a normal life. There are still people I have not told because of somethings they have said about the virus and people that have it. Some people just don't understand, and aren't willing to learn.  Thanks.

I was told that I had hepC in '99. I saw a specialist & was asked questions about my lifestyle; they also did a liver biopsy. I didn't fit the profile of someone who had hepC. Til this day, I still don't know how I got it, but I'm glad that the virus is not active for now. I just "have" it. To make a long story short, I have 2 children & a wonderful husband. I was diagnosed in 2000 right after my brother died from hep-c complications. I had a biopsy done to confirm then waited for the new medication (peg-rib-interferon) to come out and just now got enrolled in study group for meds. I am symtom-free now and will start my treatment next week. I am very suprised to find that alot of Doctors have so little info for me. I am recommending that they look at this site ASAP!

Just lost my mom in May 2004 to HCV. She was diagnosed in 1996 but by then she had already developed cirrhosis. She was a nurse and that's how she contracted the virus. I applaud you for helping bring awareness to the Hep C epidemic so that others will have hope!!!

I found out I had Hep C a few weeks ago. Routine lab work made it obvious, yet my practioner told me my labs were great, perfectly normal. As I work in the health care field, I have access to my test results and was horrified to see that Hep C was detected. I am now preparing for starting treatment and possible legal action. Scared and angry. Getting a new doctor, too.

I was diagnosed with Hep C in 2002. I have had 2 rds. of Peg/Rib. I guess I'm what you might call a relapser.... Doc says now I'm in beginning stages of Cirrhosis. I am scared to death. Most of the time I cry, because my family has had to deal with so much. Especially the times I feel helpless and a lone. Thank you for listening. I pray every nite for us all that God will help the Doc's. Take Care All.

I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C June 25, 2004. It was really a fluke it was found. I work in a prison and it was suggested getting tested for Hep B before receiving the vaccine. My hepatic levels are all within normal range and I have no symptoms. I will see a specialist in a couple of weeks to find out if I am in the active or dormant stage. I am alone and frightened. This site will help.

He died from this horrible disease on Wednesday February 17th of 2004. I can not believe he died so quickly. We're not sure how he contacted this illness. He drank heavy, had tattoos, used drugs. An old girlfriend from 15yrs ago told us that she had hepatitis c. I wonder if that's when he was tested and found out.

Both my husband and I have HCV. I was digagnosed in 94 , him just a few years ago.We finally saved enough money to start him on a check up. Lab results show his blood is to thick. So now we are waiting for more results to see if he has liver cancer. I know alot about HCV, but nothing about HCV induced liver cancer, it's scary.Best of luck to everyone. My philosophy, never ever give up, keep trudging, know matter how hard.

Hey! I just recently met the most wonderful man I have ever met, and found out he has Hep C. I have found this site very informative. I am a FIRM believer in herbs, and he is considering Interferon, so I have sent him the link in hopes he will realize that not all man made treatments are for the best. I hope that it enlightens him as it did me

I found this site due to the fact that I love my husband who has HEPC. This is all new to us. We have not even went to our 1st appointment yet, but the thought of it all scares us. He is so sick. I spend my Sundays searching and reading. I think I am ready to fight this with all I have. Lord give me the strength.

I found out I had Hep-C back in Feb. 2000. My viral load is over 3,500,000 at last check in Jan. 2003. Feel pretty achy most of the time. I am on oxycontin for pain from a botched hysterectomy that damaged one of my nerves, so that helps with the pain from the Hep-c. I am going to try to control it with diet and plenty of rest. God bless us all.

Hello- It's so nice to learn of your site, I have this wide spreading disease. I couldn't believe how many are infected with it. I've had it for some years, but my liver levels are doing ok for now (I believe it's from milk thistle). Love your site and will be telling others of it, you have so much to offer, thanks.

I just checked out your site and think you're providing a wonderful service. I was diagnosed non-A non-B in 1987 and with HCV in 1992. Tried two types of interferon combo's without adverse effects, but also without beneficial effects. Also went the herbal and dietary route for years. Had a liver transplant in 2000 and even though I still have a very virulent form of HCV, it hasn't started affecting my liver yet and I'm doing exceptionally well. Thanks for your efforts!

My best friend of 10 years has Hep C. He's had it since he was an infant (blood transfusion) but no one knew until he was 17. I've seen interferon really tear him down, even make him challenge his faith! This website is great! Thank you so much for being around! It helps eases my mind to know he's not alone! I'll pass on this site and hope he pops in!
Keep the faith! :)

Found this site very informative and it has motivated me to live a healthier lifestyle (i.e., use the mentioned herbal remedies). Been offered interferon treatment (2) but have declined. Feel healthy apart from muscle ache. Do not want a vocabulary that will articulate symptoms that are not there but dont want to deny symptoms either. I will be visiting this site again. Thanks.

I was told 4 days ago by my Dr. that I had Hep-C and there are already signs of liver damage. I came on this site and many others to try to understand this thing, and see what I do next. All I can say is that God works in mysterious ways, because the reason I got tested was because I had met someone and yes had unprotected sex, so I was worried so I got tested for everything. I am kinda glad that this happened because it probably would've gone on for years before I even knew.
