Hepatitis C
is an infirmity that carries with it a stigma that affects patients in all areas
of their lives. Misinformation about the disease itself and public
misconceptions contribute to the
discrimination and mistreatment that many of our own are now experiencing from
their places of employment to the offices of healthcare providers they've
entrusted with their health.
We believe
that with proper care, hepatitis C is survivable for most people and the purpose of this section
of the NHCC website is NOT to present a "doom and gloom"
view of the disease. Instead, we'd rather share some of the problems that many
of our own have had to endure because of it and discuss how these situations
were handled.
"A wise man learns from the
trials of others,
while a fool only remembers his own."
